Turkish ambassador in Cambodia wants the government to close Zaman school in Cambodia because it was related to the coup in Turkey on 15 July 2016.

In a press conference at the Turkish embassy in the capital yesterday, Ilhan Tug, the Turkish ambassador to Cambodia, asserted that Zaman International School (ZIS) in Phnom Penh was identified with the gathering that as of late drove the fizzled upset to topple the fairly chose government in Turkey.

Turkey expects Cambodia to “halt all support” of the schools, Tug said, and for the schools to “end all activities” because of their association with cleric and political figure Fethullah Gulen’s Gulen Movement, which Turkey has designated a terrorist group since 2013.

For this reason, he requested that the Cambodian government close the school at the earliest opportunity.
